What we fix

The repairs we're called out for most

Misty / fogged double glazing

Condensation trapped between the panes means the sealed unit has failed — not the window. We replace just the glass unit, at a fraction of the cost of a new window, usually in under an hour per unit.

Locks & gearboxes

Key won't turn, door won't lock, or the handle lifts but nothing engages? Multi-point lock gearboxes fail with age — a routine replacement that restores full security the same visit. Anti-snap cylinder upgrades available too.

Dropped & catching doors

If you're lifting, shouldering or slamming your door to close it, the hinges and keeps need realignment. A quick adjustment now prevents a wrecked gearbox later.

Handles & hinges

Snapped handles, seized hinges, stiff mechanisms — replaced with matching or upgraded parts on uPVC and composite doors and windows.

Draughts & seals

Perished gaskets and flattened weather seals let the heat out and the Belfast weather in. New seals make an old door or window feel years younger.

Window mechanisms

Broken friction stays, windows that won't open (or won't stay shut), and failed espag locks on uPVC windows — all standard fixes.

Straight answers

Repair it or replace it? We'll tell you honestly

Because we fit new doors and windows as well as repairing them, we've no reason to push you either way — the honest answer is the one that keeps your business and your recommendation.

✅ Repair usually wins when…

  • The frame and door slab are sound
  • It's one failed part — a unit, lock, handle or hinge
  • The door or window is under ~15 years old
  • You're happy with how it looks

🔄 Replacement makes sense when…

  • The door is warped, cracked or rotten
  • Several parts have failed or keep failing
  • Single glazing or first-generation uPVC is costing you heat
  • Security is the worry — see our composite doors from £1,750 fitted

Not sure which side you're on? Send us a photo — we'll tell you straight, and if a £90 repair does the job, that's what we'll recommend.

Simple process

How a repair works

1. Tell us the problem

Call or use the quote form — a photo of the fault and a rough description is usually all we need. No call-out fee, no obligation.

2. Fixed price agreed

For most repairs we'll give you a fixed price there and then. Glass units are measured, ordered and typically ready within days.

3. Fixed in one visit

Most repairs — locks, handles, hinges, seals, alignment and pre-ordered glass units — are completed in a single visit, tidy and tested before we leave.

Repair questions

Repairs FAQ

Can misty double glazing be fixed without a whole new window?
Yes. Misting between the panes means the sealed glass unit has failed — the frame is usually fine. We replace just the unit, which costs a fraction of a full window and usually takes under an hour once the new glass arrives.
My door won't lock / needs lifted to close — fixable?
Almost always. It usually needs hinge and keep realignment, or a new gearbox in the multi-point lock. Both are routine and far cheaper than a new door — and fixing it early stops a small fault becoming a big one.
Do you charge a call-out fee?
No — quotes are free, and for most repairs we can price the job from a photo and description over the phone. The price is agreed before any work starts.
Should I repair my old door or replace it?
If the slab and frame are sound, repair is usually right — and we'll say so. If it's warped, rotten or failing repeatedly, the repair money is often better put toward a new composite or uPVC door. We do both, so the advice is honest either way.
Which areas do you cover?
Belfast, Bangor, Newtownards, Holywood, Dundonald, Comber, Lisburn, Newtownabbey, Carrickfergus — and across Northern Ireland.
