Prices are typical fitted ranges for standard-size openings in good condition. Current lead time from order to fitting is around 6 weeks.

What actually moves the price of a composite door?
1. The slab and core
Standard doors use a 44mm solid timber-core or foam-core slab. Premium ranges step up to 48–70mm cores with better insulation and a heavier, more solid feel. This is the biggest single price driver.
2. Glazing
Plain double glazing is standard. Triple glazing, obscure privacy glass and decorative leaded or bevelled designs each add cost — and side panels effectively add another glazed unit to the job.
3. Colour and finish
White and a handful of standard colours cost least. Premium colours, woodgrain foils and dual-colour doors (one colour outside, another inside) sit at the top of each range.
4. Hardware and security
Every door we fit includes multi-point locking and an anti-snap cylinder as standard. Designer handles, knockers, letterplates and smart locks are the optional extras.
5. The opening itself
A standard-size opening in good condition keeps fitting simple. Wider openings, side panels, brickwork repairs or rotten sub-frames add labour — a free survey settles this before you see a price.
6. Who's quoting you
National companies carry showrooms, salespeople and finance commissions in their prices. Local installers don't — which is usually why like-for-like quotes can differ by £500 or more.
How to compare composite door quotes fairly
Two quotes are only comparable if they cover the same things. Before you pick, check every quote includes:
- Fitting and a new frame — some headline prices are for the door slab only. A composite door fitted into a tired old frame is money wasted.
- Removal and disposal of your old door — should be included, not a bolt-on.
- The exact glazing spec — "double glazed" ranges from basic units to A++ rated glass. Ask for the rating in writing.
- An anti-snap cylinder — the lock barrel is the part burglars attack. If it isn't mentioned, ask.
- A written workmanship guarantee — the manufacturer covers the door; who covers the fitting? Ours is guaranteed for 10 years.
- A fixed price — a proper survey first means no "unforeseen extras" on fitting day.
